KUALA LUMPUR: Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) expects 10% of its 516,000 small medium enterprise (SME) customers to take up its 'Good Bye XP, Good Buy Windows 8' trade-in programme, said TM SME executive vice president Azizi A. Hadi (pix).
The trade-in programme which was launched yesterday, is jointly offered by TM, Microsoft Malaysia and Intel Malaysia, to all of TM's existing SME customers.
From now till June 30, 2014, all of TM's existing SME customers can bring along their latest TM bill be it UniFi, Streamyx or any other TM service, to visit any of TM's ongoing TM SME BizFiesta and TM SME Biz Fest road shows nationwide to trade in their old notebook or desktop and purchase a brand new Windows 8.1 device powered by Intel Processors.
These devices are equipped with the cloud-powered Office 365 Pro Plus productivity suite and can be purchased from the appointed resellers at a special promotional price with savings of up to RM600 per device under the trade-in programme. Participating brands are Acer, Dell, HP and Lenovo.
Azizi said it is also using the trade-in programme to entice businesses that are currently subscribing to its consumer packages, to take-up its SME package.
"Some of these businesses are using the residential package and we encourage them to move up to the business packages. There are a lot of advantages when they upgrade to business packages, as we have loyalty programmes, events and offers such as this trade-in programme. In terms of cost, I believe this is affordable for the SMEs, to move from consumer package to business package," he told reporters at the launch yesterday.
