HINO Motors Manufacturing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (HMMMY) marked a major milestone recently, rolling out its first vehicle made in its new Negri Sembilan plant just nine months after the plant's groundbreaking ceremony.
Present during the simple line-off ceremony were HMMMY managing director Ikuo Shibano and guest-ofhonour, Datuk Takashi Hibi, deputy chairman of UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd.
Hino's state-of-the-art 140,000 square meter facility located in the Negri Sembilan state's Sendayan Tech Valley is the brand's first plant ever built in the country at the cost of RM140 million.
Hino states that the new facility has a production capacity of approximately 10,000 units annually and it manufacturers the brand's full range of vehicles for the Malaysian market.
Additionally, Shibano stated that the newly commissioned plant will now grant HMMMY full control of its product supply with the flexibility to respond to growing market demands, plus a shortened delivery lead time to its Malaysian customers.
