MCA to form human shield to stop PAS

KUALA LUMPUR: MCA Youth will form a human shield at the Parliament building to block PAS from tabling the Private Member's Bill on the implementation of hudud in Kelantan, if the party insists on tabling it.
MCA Youth chief Senator Chong Sin Woon said the party will try its best to stop PAS from tabling the Bill in June in order to uphold the Federal Constitution.
He said the Bill must be stopped before it is too late as it would have a big impact on non-Muslims.
"The Bill will cause a constitutional crisis and divide the country. If it is passed in Parliament, there is no turning back," he said at a press conference here today.
"We are not against Islam but we want to uphold the Federal Constitution," he said.
Chong added that MCA Youth will launch a street campaign to oppose the Bill. The campaign will kick off on May 8 at 8pm in Sungai Petani, Kedah.
"It will go on until June 9 and we aim to get one million signatures," he said.
He also said that someone in Pakatan Rakyat (PR) is lying about the Bill.
"Tian Chua (the PKR vice-president) says the top leaders in PR have come to a consensus that hudud can be implemented in Kelantan and Terengganu, but Lim Guan Eng (the DAP secretary-general) says they do not have the consensus.
"So who is telling the truth?"
