Naked man blackmailed by Skype girlfriend

KUALA LUMPUR: Wanting some excitement, a married man showed his naked body through Skype to a Filipino girl who in turn decided to blackmail him using the video clippings.
Narrating the incident, Kelvin Chong, 37, a sales executive, said he befriended the 24-year-old girl via a private message sent through a social website, Tagged, last month.
He said they became friends and she even provided him with her Facebook account.
However, he added, on May 1, she text him via Facebook saying that she wanted to show him her naked body through Skype.
"She also wanted me to show mine and I agreed," he said at a press conference held at MCA Public Service and Complaints Bureau, Wisma MCA, here today.
Kelvin, who had Skyped his naked body, was shocked when the girl blackmailed him on May 2, saying that she would show it to all his family members and friends in Facebook if he did not pay her RM2,500.
Not wanting her to expose his naked body, Kelvin transferred the money through Western Union to an account at Marikina city in the Philippines on the same day at 2pm, with the understanding that she would delete the video clipping.
What came as another shock was when Kelvin received a second message asking for another RM2,500 on the same day at 4pm.
"I refused this time and she threatened to upload my naked body on the social network," he added.
Giving in to her second threat, Kelvin transferred another RM800 after negotiating the amount.
Fearing that the girl may make further demands for money, Kelvin sought the help of MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head Datuk Seri Michael Chong.
Chong, who was present, said to date he had received 10 similar cases since 2012.
"Six out of 10 cases are males being blackmailed and each of the victims had paid between RM3,500 and RM5,000 to settle the matter," he said.
Chong advised men not to fall victims by exposing their naked body to women whom they befriended via social networks.
