Ex-salesman charged with cheating employer

    KUALA LUMPUR: A former mobile phone salesman pleaded not guilty in the magistrate's court today to 14 counts of cheating his employer of RM50,393 two years ago.
    Peh Swee Kim, 28, is accused of cheating Asia Mobile Supplies Sdn Bhd by producing 14 fictitious invoices for between RM885 and RM12,840 each from other mobile phone companies and inducing the company to deliver the goods.
    He allegedly committed the offences at Asia Mobile Supplies' premises at Plaza Low Yat, off Jalan Bukit Bintang between May 15, 2012, and Jan 10, 2013. The offence under the Penal Code provides for up to 10 years jail, caning or fine, on conviction.
    Judge Mat Ghani Abdullah set bail at RM15,000 with one surety and fixed June 13 for mention.
    DPP Siti Aisyah Ahmad appeared for the prosecution, while lawyer Mohd Riza Zakaria represented Peh. – Bernama
