Koenigsegg now in Malaysia

THE Naza Group of Companies expanded its portfolio this week with the official introduction of the Koenigsegg Automotive AB hypercar brand via the group's new subsidiary, Naza Swedish Motors Sdn Bhd.
Present during the opening ceremony of the Koenigsegg brand's first showroom in Malaysia were Naza Group's joint group executive chairman Datuk Wira SM Faisal Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin, Koenigsegg brand founder Christian von Koenigsegg, and Swedish Ambassador to Malaysia Bengt G. Carlsson.
Following a deal inked earlier this year, Naza Swedish Motors has been appointed by the Swedish exotic car brand as its official distributor for the Malaysian and Indonesian markets.
The showroom launch also marked the introduction of the Agera S model. Essentially, the Agera S is a tweaked version of the brand's Agera R model, developed specifically for markets without E85-grade bio-fuel.
The Agera S' mid-mounted 5.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine has been calibrated to run lower fuel grades instead. Despite its re-optimisation, the mill still develops whopping output figures of 1,030hp and 1,100Nm of maximum torque.
All power is sent to the rear wheels via a specially developed seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle-shifters and an electronic differential system, granting the hypercar with a 2.9-second century sprint time, and the capability to hit top speeds over 400km/h.
Added control comes courtesy of the chassis' unique Triplex suspension system, and Michelin Supersports tyres made specifically for the Agera S.
Other notable highlights include the extensive use of carbon fibre to build its chassis, body, and wheels, as well as other exotic materials such as kevlar, aluminium, and alcantara incorporated in the vehicle's interior. Inclusive of duties and taxes, the Agera S has an estimated on-the-road price tag exceeding RM15 million.
Each unit comes with Koenigsegg's standard offer of a three-year warranty period as well.
