MCIS Zurich Insurance Bhd is now MCIS Insurance Bhd

PETALING JAYA: Effective yesterday, MCIS Zurich Insurance Bhd is known as MCIS Insurance Bhd.
This followed the successful recent purchase by Sanlam Emerging Markets Proprietary Limited (SEM) of a 40% interest in MCIS Zurich Insurance, and the resultant exit of Zurich Asia Holdings Limited (Zurich) as part of the broader transaction.
SEM, part of the Sanlam Group which is a leading Financial Services Group based in South Africa and with a presence in 11 African countries as well as India, UK, USA, Australia and Malaysia, completed the purchase of its 40% interest from Koperasi MCIS Bhd on May 5 this year.
SEM will increase its interest to 51% through the mandatory take-over offer to minority shareholders (the Offer) that is currently in progress, or through the purchase of further shares from Koperasi should the Offer not yield sufficient minority acceptances.

Gradually, over the coming months, there will be a change in the company's branding in terms of a new logo which will be reflected through its branches nationwide as well as its printed materials including receipts, policy contracts, marketing materials, etc.
"Customers with policies issued under the former company name can rest assured that we will continue to honour all benefit, claims and obligations as stated in their original policy contract – there are no changes to this," stressed Jones.
As a pioneering insurer in Malaysia, MCIS Insurance said it is poised to strengthen its market position in the future.
The company said it is committed to enhance its customers' experience and accelerate product and service offerings to cater to the unique needs of the growing Malaysian population.
