Food galore at Ramadan bazaars

SHAH ALAM: It's the start of the fasting month and Muslims all over the world, including Malaysia, observe Ramadan as part of their obligations to complete one of five pillars in Islam.
With fasting comes Ramadan bazaars, which have sprouted across the country.
Offering an array of delicious food, Ramadan stalls provide an opportunity for traders to boost their income.
For ayam golek trader Mohd Sufian Ismail, 30, he hopes his specially roasted chicken would be a hit with customers who include non-Muslims.
Meanwhile, murtabak trader Khairul Ridzuan, 28, is also hoping boost his sales this year.
"I've prepared bigger quantity to meet an expected bigger demand," he said at his stall in Shah Alam.
At the same bazaar, ikan bakar trader Zamree, 41, said he is maintaining his price to reward his loyal customers in the spirit of the holy month.
Several consumers approached by theSun said the prices of food at the bazaar are reasonable.
