KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian national news agency, Bernama, is to investigate a claim that one of its reporters has plagiarised news reports on the Indonesian presidential election published by the Jakarta Globe.
Bernama editor-in-chief Datuk Zulkefli Salleh said today Bernama viewed the allegation seriously because it strictly prohibits plagiarism by its journalists adding that the journalist has been suspended and an internal investigation is being carried out.
"The journalist has been suspended while an internal investigation is being carried out. Strict disciplinary action will be taken by Bernama if the reporter is found to have been liable," he added. – Bernama
