Ringgit up against US dollar

    KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit rallied against the US dollar and other major currencies today as expectations mounted that overnight policy (OPR) rate will be raised this week by Bank Negara Malaysia, a currency trader said.
    At 5pm, the ringgit was quoted at 3.1700/1730 versus the greenback from yesterday's 3.1880/1900 and was firmer against other major currencies.
    The local unit was stronger against the Singapore dollar at 2.5486/5513 from 2.5569/5594 yesterday and rose against the yen to 3.1158/1193 from 3.1273/1299 on Monday.
    It appreciated against the British pound to 5.4191/4258 from 5.4658/4705 yesterday and strengthened against the euro to 4.3112/3159 from 4.3347/3381 Monday. – Bernama
