KUALA LUMPUR: "Ops Bersama Khas' launched since February this year by police and six other government agencies has resulted in zero fatality and one minor accident at the Genting Highland stretch.

He said the three operations which included checks for drugs were carried out along the Genting Highland stretch especially at Genting Sempah, Gombak – Genting, Batang Kali – Genting and Genting Terminal.
Car owners topped the list with 1,861 summonses followed by motorcyclists (403) and bus drivers (210)," said Mohd Fuad.
He said their study showed that 65% of accidents occur due to drivers attitude and negligence, besides drug and alcohol consumption.
RTD deputy director general Datuk Yusof Ayub said it was important that the relevant agencies also mount enforcement checks to address the issue of accidents..
"We are also going to implement a new curriculum for driving schools nationwide at the end of this year. This system will improve drivers ethics, attitude and responsibility when on the road," added Yusof.
