Muhammad Firdaus discharged from hospital today

SEREMBAN: Muhammad Firdaus Dullah, the 15-year-old cerebral palsy-stricken teenager who was found in a deplorable and malnourished condition at a low-cost flat in Nilai on June 21, was discharged from the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital (HTJ) here, this morning.
Negeri Sembilan Welfare Department director Abdullah Hanapi said Firdaus was discharged at 9.40am and taken to the Magistrate's Court in Seremban to obtain a court order to be placed under the care of the state welfare department temporarily at the Taman Sinar Harapan Tuanku Ampuan Najihah, in Teming.
Firdaus was found covered in his own faeces and urine during a raid conducted by the state Immigration Department on June 21 at 2.30am, in a neglected stage at a low cost flat in Taman Semarak Phase 2, Nilai.
The boy's mother, Lolanopita Sadi, 40, was later charged under Section 31(1) and Section 33 (c) of the Child Act 2001 for neglect.
During his one-month stay, the department will try to locate his next of kin. Meanwhile, donations for the welfare of Muhammad Firdaus through Tabung Haji has reached RM85,000 as of July 16. – Bernama
