Subramaniam: Ensure home is clean before leaving for hometown

PUTRAJAYA: People returning to their hometowm for Aidilfitri need to first ensure their home and surroundings are clean and free from pools of stagnant water to avoid breeding Aedes mosquitoes, said Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam (pix).
"Until last week, the number of dengue cases had exceeded 50,000, which is the highest in the country's history, so we must continue to work at eradicating this epidemic.
"Spend some time cleaning your home before going back to your hometown," he said in an Aidilfitri message, here, today.
Meanwhile, Dr Subramaniam also advised the public to eat healthily during the festive season.
"Cut down of fatty food and drink lots of water. Be active to ensure your body condition is stable and healthy," he added.
Dr Subramaniam also extended his condolences to the families of the 298 MH17 crash victims, including 44 Malaysians. – Bernama
