Subsidised fuels worth RM50,000 seized in Bukit Mertajam

    BUKIT MERTAJAM: Subsidised fuels - 12,115 litres of diesel, 13,590 litres of RON95 petrol and 11,010 litres of RON95 petrol mixed with methanol - altogether worth RM50,000 were seized in a 3.30pm raid on an illegal storage yard in Chong Nam Estet, Valdor near here today.
    Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry enforcement chief for Seberang Perai Tengah, Md Nasir Mohamad said the raiding team also detained a man and a woman in her 30s who were believed to be workers at the yard.
    "It is believed the duo were waiting for buyers of the fuels which were stored in several tanks at the yard," he told reporters.
    He added that the premises had been raided in December last year for the same offence (abusing sale of subsidised fuels). – Bernama
