Abandoned car poser for residents

PETALING JAYA: An abandoned car that has been lying in a drain for nearly four months near a food court at Jalan Terus in Old Town is causing concern among residents in the area.
The car, a silver Perodua Kancil with the registration number BGV 4237, looks like it had been vandalised and is badly damaged.
A trader at a market nearby who only identified himself as Chan, said the vehicle was initially parked properly by the roadside, but later ended up in the drain.
He added that the area is congested, and parking space is scarce, which could be the reason the car was "moved". Chan said people can now park at the spot, but the wreck is an eyesore.
A resident, Ngai Meng, said the wreck could eventually clog the drain and lead to the site being a mosquito breeding ground.
Attempts to reach the Petaling Jaya City Council for comments were unsuccessful at press time.
