PUCHONG: Web hosting provider Exabytes Network Sdn Bhd targets to achieve a 50% increase in revenue by the financial year ending March 31, 2015 (FY15), from RM21 million in FY14, on the back of acquisitions and organic growth.
"Acquisition will contribute 20%, and organically 30%, so we're eyeing at least 50% growth for FY15, to be in the surplus of RM30 million in revenue," Exabytes CEO and founder Chan Kee Siak told reporters at a press conference and launch of its integrated logistics service platform EasyParcel here yesterday.
Malaysian-owned Exabytes serves over 70,000 clients with about 100,000 websites, and over one million email accounts worldwide from over 120 countries and also owns online e-commerce platform Easy.my.
Exabytes, which yesterday announced the completion of the acquisition of Singapore-based Usonyx Pte Ltd for "seven-digit Singapore dollars", expects Usonyx to ramp up its revenue by up to 20% or some RM5 million.
Usonyx provides server hosting services to its 3,000-odd SMEs customer base.
"For the acquisition of Usonyx, there's not much in terms of technology but we acquire the experience of how a Japanese company serve customers," said Chan.
Following the acquisition, Usonyx is now wholly-owned by Exabytes, making Exabytes one of the top three largest hosting companies in Singapore and a significant web hosting provider in Southeast Asia.
Moving forward, Chan said Exabytes is eyeing more acquisitions or partnerships in the region to accelerate growth. It is preparing to penetrate the Indonesian market in the fourth quarter of 2014 and will invest US$1 million (RM3.2 million) in the initial phase.
"There are potentially more acquisitions coming onboard soon and one of them (companies) has a presence in Indonesia. Whether that happens or not, we also have our own organic plan to enter the Indonesian market and sell our operations over there," said Chan, adding that it plans to start with the web hosting business in Indonesia, and bring the e-commerce business there in the next stage, followed by the EasyParcel logistics service platform.
Exabytes yesterday also launched EasyParcel, a single integrated e-commerce platform that combines the service availability of Poslaju, Skynet, Airpax, Nationwide and DHL.
Chan said Exabytes has invested at least RM1 million to develop the platform over two years and it expects the venture to break-even within the second year of launching.
