Sudanese student killed in road crash at LPT

    KUANTAN: A Sudanese student was killed and his female colleague was injured when the car they were travelling in skidded and crashed into a parked vehicle at Kilometre 213.6 of the East Coast Expressway (LPT) (Kuantan bound) yesterday.
    In the crash which occurred about 5pm, Mohamed Tarig Mustafa Attaelsied, 21, of Segi University in Selangor, died on the spot due to serious head and bodily injuries.
    His friend, identified as Israa Abu Gabran Khalifa Fadl Alla, 20, also a Sudanese, was injured and sent to Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital here for treatment.
    Chief of Traffic Staff, Pahang Police Contingent, Supt Mohamed Fauzi Abdul Rahim said Mohamed Tarig, who was at the wheel of the Toyota Vios car, was believed to have lost control of the wheel, causing the car to skid and then veered to the centre of the road before crashing into a van belonging to Alloy Mtd Sdn Bhd that was parked by the roadside.
    "At that time, only the right lane was opened. The left lane was closed for road repair," he told reporters here today. – Bernama
