Business as usual for embattled Selangor MB

SHAH ALAM: Embattled Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim arrived for work as usual today at his office at the State Secretariat (SUK) Building here.
A day earlier, he had received the consent of the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, to continue holding the post of mentri besar until further developments despite having been sacked from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).
Khalid, who was attired in a dark lounge suit, was seen to be calm and smiling as he arrived at the building at about 9.30am. He is expected to meet with the state executive councillors today to find out whether they wish to remain in the state government administration or resign.
Four of the councillors are from PAS and three each from DAP and PKR. The three parties make up the Pakatan Rakyat.
The PKR disciplinary board expelled Khalid from the party with immediate effect on Saturday after he defied a party decision requiring him to step down as the mentri besar to pave the way for PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail to take over the post.
Khalid had said that he would remain as the mentri besar until his term expires. He has been the mentri besar of Selangor since March 13, 2008. – Bernama
