SHAH ALAM: Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's position as state economic adviser was not discussed at the meeting of the Selangor Economic Action Council (SEAC) today.
"Not discussed," he said in brief when met by reporters after chairing the meeting at the state secretariat building, here, today.
Yesterday, when asked about Anwar's position as state economic adviser, Abdul Khalid said the matter would be discussed at the SEAC meeting today.
Abdul Khalid's sacking from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) effective Aug 9 has left many quarters wondering about Anwar's position as state economic adviser. Anwar, who is PKR de facto leader, was appointed as economic adviser to the Selangor government on Nov 13, 2009.
Abdul Khalid also did not say a word but walked straight into the lift to his office on the 21st floor of the SS building, when asked repeatedly on the position of Batu Tiga assemblyman Rodziah Ismail, from PKR, as state executive council (exco) member in charge of Welfare and Women's Affairs.
Rodziah had issued a statement today that she would abide by the party's decision with regard to her position amid Pakatan Rakyat's internal crisis where the state's PKR and DAP leaders have rejected Abdul Khalid as mentri besar.
Rodziah who returned from Bangkok, Thailand, last night, said she made that decision in upholding the mandate given in the 13th general election by the people for Pakatan Rakyat to administer Selangor.
Abdul Khalid had on Tuesday sacked five state exco members from DAP and PKR who refused to work with him after he received consent from the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah to remain as mentri besar.
The five are Datuk Teng Chang Khim, Ean Yong Hian Wah and V. Ganabatirau from DAP and Dr Daroyah Alwi and Elizabeth Wong Keat Ping from PKR.
Yesterday, Abdul Khalid said the sacking, however, did not involve Rodziah as she was overseas at the time and her position would be decided upon her return.
Meanwhile, state Housing, Building Management and Urban Settlers Committee chairman, Iskandar Abdul Samad when met by reporters after attending the SEAC meeting, said the position of the local councillors with the local authorities in Selangor was also discussed at the meeting.
"Their position remains," he said.
Meanwhile, media reporters who had been waiting for Rodziah's appearance for the SEAC meeting were disappointed as she was not seen at all at the SS building. – Bernama
