21-year old Malaysian male dead in Japan

KUALA LUMPUR: The father of a 21-year-old Malaysian, whose body was found washed up on a beach in Japan three days ago, wants to know the real cause of his son's death.
Tan Keat Lai, 57, was at the MCA public services and complaints department here today after learning that the body of his son, Hee Siang (pix), was found at the Satsuki Matsubara beach in Munakata City, Fukuoka. Hee Siang, an auto-part marketer, was sent by his company to Japan in June.
Department chief Datuk Seri Michael Chong told reporters that three days ago, his parents received a call from a colleague in Japan informing them of the incident.
Chong said details as to what happened to Hee Siang were not clear as "all that is known is that he was with his colleagues riding a jet ski back to shore."
"Hee Siang was holding onto a rope tethered to the ski... when they reached the shore they couldn't find him. His hands may have slipped from the rope and he drowned," he added.
Keat Lai, 57, said he was devastated by the news and the family was in a state of shock as Hee Siang was a good swimmer.
Keat Lai and his wife later left for Japan and are due to arrive today. They will be going straight to the mortuary to claim the body of Hee Siang who was the eldest of their four children.
