PR nominates Wan Azizah for MB post

PETALING JAYA: Pakatan Rakyat (PR) has decided to nominate Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as the next Selangor mentri besar.
The decision was made after a meeting attended by the top PR leadership.
PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the PR leadership council appreciated the decision made by PAS to stay with PR's stand on the mentri besar issue.
"The meeting also appreciated PAS' suggestion to nominate Wan Azizah and PKR deputy president Azmin Ali as mentri besar," he said.
"However, Azmin stressed that he will support PKR's decision to name Wan Azizah as the next Selangor mentri besar," Anwar told a press conference after the council meeting today.
The press conference was also attended by PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng and Azmin. However, Wan Azizah was not present.
Anwar said PR will continue with the process of presenting the decision signed by Anwar, Lim and Mohamad to the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
Azmin also reiterated that he will stay with the decision made by PKR.
"I thank PAS for nominating me as one of the candidates to helm the state.
"As PKR deputy president, I am with the party and PR's decision to nominate Wan Azizah as the mentri besar as agreed earlier," he said.
