Boy dies after being trapped in father's car for more than 8 hours

    ALOR SETAR: A four-year-old boy died after he was found unconscious in his father's car which was left in the parking lot of the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Kuala Nerang, near here today.
    The victim, Muhammad Aqil Arfan Adnan, was believed to have been trapped for more than eight hours in the car, a Perodua Viva, before his father, Adnan Salleh, in his 40s, a religious teacher in the school, found him at 4pm after finishing work.
    It was understood that the victim was later taken to the Kuala Nerang Hospital where he was confirmed dead.
    According to a relative of the boy, Soaid Adam, 45, Adnan and his wife, Asiah Abu, in her 30s, a teacher at SMK Dato Syed Ahmad, Kuala Nerang, would normally leave their home in Kampung Padang Durian, Pendang with their son at about 6.45am.
    Kedah Criminal Investigation Department Head, ACP Nashir Ya when contacted, confirmed receiving a report on the incident.
    He said the cause of the incident had not yet been determined and the case was being investigated under Section 304 of the Penal Code. – Bernama
