SHAH ALAM: Talks about dissolution of the Pakatan Rakyat led Selangor state assembly is "nonsense" and is "unconstitutional" since it still retains majority.
Rubbishing the claims, PKR women wing chief Zuraida Kamarudin said,"We still have the majority; PAS is still with us. Why should we dissolve the state?
"The issue of state dissolution is impossible and nonsense.
"If Umno wants to have a state election, it better be prepared to for a 56-0 majority."
Zuraida had earlier said that dissolving the state would be unconstitutional.
The PR coalition, comprising PAS, DAP and PKR, has 43 seats in the state assembly, in which Barisan Nasional, the opposition in the state has 12 seats, while the embattled Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim is the only independent following his sacking from PKR.
Expressing her disappointment with Khalid for going to the Registrar of Society in regards to his sacking from the party, Zuraida said it should not have gone that far.
"It is very sad to go around explaining about the crisis in the state party.
"But when it comes to the framework of a political party, it is only right when a leader steps down gracefully when he or she is asked to by the same party that appointed him or her," she said during her winding up speech at the PKR women wing convention at the 10th National Congress.
Zuraida said it is not appropriate to hold on and defy the party, when the party made Khalid the mentri besar.
"We are sad that it has come down to this level but we have to face the situation anyway," she said.
Meanwhile, Zuraida also said that PKR will champion a public provident fund scheme for housewives in the next Parliament sitting to ensure that their futures are secured.
