Nurse killed in accident one week before wedding

    MUAR: A nurse whose wedding was scheduled for next week, was killed in an accident on the North-South Expressway near Pagoh this morning.
    Muar police chief ACP Azman Ayob said Amirah Abdul Rahim, 25, was driving from her house in Rengit, Batu Pahat to her workplace at Bukit Gambir Health Clinic in Ledang when the car she was driving skidded and crashed into the road divider at 7am.
    She died at the scene and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, he said.
    Meanwhile, her father, Abdul Rahim Sobri, 48, said he was badly saddened by the tragic demise of his daughter, especially with the preparations being done for her wedding on Aug 30.
    "I can only believe it after I arrived at the scene and saw her remains covered with cloth," he said.
    Amirah was laid to rest at Kampung Jambi Muslim cemetery, Rengit this evening. – Bernama
