Remains of MH17 victims Foo and Ng cremated

SHAH ALAM: The atmosphere at the Nirvana Crematorium in Section 21, here was poignant but calm when the remains of MH17 tragedy victims Foo Ming Lee and Ng Qing Zheng arrived.
The caskets bearing the remains of Foo Ming Lee, Ng Qing Zheng arrived at 11.30am and 12.15pm respectively, accompanied by family members, relatives, friends and those who came to pay their last respects.
The remains of Foo was kept at the Sungai Besi Memorial Park since arriving from Amsterdam on Friday, for religious ceremonies, before it was taken to the Nirvana Memorial park in Shah Alam for cremation while the remains of Ng was brought from his residence in Kota Kemuning.
The remains of Foo and Ng were among the first batch of 20 remains from the 43 Malaysians who perished in the MH17 tragedy on July 17.
A special Malaysia Airlines aircraft bearing the remains of 20 Malaysian victims of the MH17 tragedy had taken off from Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport in Holland and touched down at the KL International Airport (KLIA) at 9.54am on Friday.
Ng's alumni friend of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Chung Hua, Klang, Xie Jun Tian, 42, said the demise of the 30-year-old Chemical Engineer since he was an active member of the alumni.
"He is the one who normally organised and made arrangements for our activities. He is a very active person and always had time for his friends in the alumni.
"I still cannot believe that he is gone. He was always jovial and me us laugh with his jokes. In fact he had also promised to buy me a gift from Amsterdam," he told reporters, here today.
Ng leaves behind his wife and a four-year-old son.
Meanwhile, Foo's family members avoided the media and quickly left the crematorium, once the remains were cremated.
Flight MH17 crashed in eastern Ukraine on July 17 as it was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur with 283 passengers and 15 crew on board. The Boeing 777-200 aircraft is believed to have been shot down over the troubled country.
Besides Malaysians, nationals from the Netherlands, Australia, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, the Philippines, Canada and New Zealand were among the 298 passengers and crew on board. – Bernama
