PETALING JAYA: Spread the joy of giving, sharing and doing good deeds for one another in the spirit of unity.
This is the objective of the #saysomethingnice campaign by advertising and marketing consultant group, Zubedy. They are back again for the fourth year in a row, to encourage Malaysians to put others first during the 17-day period from Merdeka day on Aug 31 to Malaysia Day on Sept 16.
The campaign was officially launched yesterday by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Tan Sri Joseph Kurup.
For the first time, the campaign will include sub-campaigns, such as #plantsomethingnice to encourage the planting of trees in schools and homes; #servesomethingnice where volunteers can help Kechara Soup Kitchen to distribute food to homeless and urban poor in Kuala Lumpur and #eatsomethingnice to encourage healthy eating among school children.
"I believe this campaign can and will become a celebration of unity that will be passed on through the generations, " said Zubedy group managing director Anas Zubedy at the launch of the campaign in Tropicana City Mall yesterday.
Kurup expressed his admiration for the campaign and said the National Unity and Integration Department (JPNIN) is looking forward to working with Zubedy on this campaign in the future.
"The campaign wants us all to celebrate the best that Malaysia has to offer. I hope the values taught throughout the campaign can be emulated and made a culture of our own," he said.
Also present were sponsors and partners of the campaign.
The present also observed a moment of silence and said a silent prayer for the victims of MH370 and MH17.
