JCY International’s Kulaijaya factories closed temporarily due to workers' unrest

    PETALING JAYA: JCY International Bhd had to temporarily shut down its factories in Kulaijaya, Johor after workers' unrest and a fire incident which occurred on Tuesday.
    In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, JCY International said there were no major damages to the factories and properties of the company and its subsidiaries.
    "The company is currently taking active steps to address the situation and to reach an amicable settlement with the workers," said JCY International.
    The company said while the damages to the factories and properties did not pose any material impact on the financial performance and financial position of the group for the financial year ending Sept 30, 2014, it is still assessing the impact, the temporary shutdown caused to operations.
    There have been no disruptions outside of its Kulaijaya factories.
