Khalid to issue statement about MB post on Wednesday

SHAH ALAM: Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim (pix) said he will issue a statement on his position as Selangor mentri besar Wednesday.
"I cannot comment and I will only issue a statement on it this Wednesday," he told reporters after officiating the Selangor state level Book Fest here today.
Abdul Khalid was asked to comment on his position as mentri besar after the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah obtained the names of candidates as the new Selangor mentri besar from the opposition pact.
He was asked to resign from his post following claims that he had lost the votes of 30 Selangor state assemblymen, including two from PAS. Subsequently, last Tuesday he had expressed his wish to resign from his post to the sultan.
However, Sultan Sharafuddin postponed accepting Abdul Khalid's resignation until the new mentri besar was apppointed and had directed PAS, DAP and PKR to submit two names as candidates for the post by this Sept 3. – Bernama
