KUALA LUMPUR: Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi clarified today that he was referring to DAP leaders and supporters when he spoke about non-Malays becoming arrogant.
The Star Online today reported him clarifying that the majority of non-Malays in the country are respectful of the sentiments and sensitivities of other races.
The Umno vice-president claimed he had been quoted out of context by theSun yesterday when he said that non-Malays were getting increasingly arrogant and insulting the bumiputras, the royalty and Islam.
Ahmad Zahid said his statement referred to the DAP as it was evident from comments made by the party and its supporters, especially those posted on pro-opposition news portals and the social media.
He added that the Barisan Nasional has non-Malay component parties which were certainly not racists in their approach.
