LIBERTY Ross (pix) was inspired by Vivienne Westwood.
The 35-year-old model - who launched her debut fashion collection for LA-based denim brand Genetic on Net-A-Porter last month - says the tartan fabrics used in the line were a nod to the legendary Brit-born designer, who she spent time working with in the past.
Liberty said of the six-piece line, entitled 'Liberty Ross x Genetic Denim Collection': "The plaid is more kind of my London days - Vivienne Westwood. Punk. And the print is more my high-fashion glamour edge, slightly disco-inspired."
She added: "I've been so lucky and fortunate to have worked with the greatest fashion people of our era. I was working with Karl Lagerfeld and John Galliano and Vivienne Westwood, so I've always had an eye for design."
The raven-haired beauty also admitted she had a new found respect for designers after experiencing the hard work involved in creating her own collection.
She recently told Elle magazine: "I've learnt a lot about structuring things and have become even more respectful of all these designers - I don't know how they do so many collections back to back. It's SUCH a lot of work!" – Bang Media
