KUALA LUMPUR: Naza Quest Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Chevrolet cars in Malaysia is targeting to sell at least 2,000 units a year of its newly launched Chevrolet Malibu LTZ executive sedan, said its chief operating officer Norzahid Mohd Zahudi.
Norzahid said the company has received enquiries of over 800 units.
He said the much awaited Chevrolet Malibu LTZ is priced at RM153,888 on-the-road excluding insurance and road tax. It comes with a warranty package of five years or 200,000km.
Speaking to reporters after the launch here yesterday, he said Chevrolet's D-segment warrior charges into Malaysian shores packing the brand's famed dual continuous variable cam phasing 2.4 litre Ecotex engine.
Naza Quest, a sole and exclusive authorised distributor of General Motors product under the Chevrolet brand in the country and currently distributes Chevrolet brands like the Cruze, Captiva, Colorado, Orlando, Sonic and Malibu.
On its plan to expand its 3S branches and dealers network, Norzahid said Naza Quest currently have 29 outlets in major cities nationwide.
"We have outlets in major cities in the country. In Sabah and Sarawak we are very well placed. We also have effective dealers network that represent us," he said.
To a question why there was a delay in the launching of Chevrolet Malibu in Malaysia, he said the engineering process took longer to suit the Malaysian markets such as fuel and road condition before bringing it here.
"Over the last year or two, we have been looking at positioning the line of model for Malaysian market," he added.
