KUANTAN: Police today started investigating the case of three Facebook accounts detected to be false and using the names of the Tengku Mahkota and Tengku Puan Pahang.
A police report on this misdemeanour was lodged by the special officer to Tengku Mahkota Pahang, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah at the Kuantan district police headquarters at 9.55am this morning.
"I had opened the Facebook site and found one account opened in the name of Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah and two accounts in the name of Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah," said the special officer, Abdul Rahim Othman after making the police report.
"It is not known who are managing these accounts while there are comments made that embarrass Tunku Hajah Azizah and Tengku Abdullah.
"This matter is viewed very seriously as it could tarnish the good name of the Pahang royalty. I have been ordered by the Tengku Mahkota and Tengku Puan Pahang to make a police report for investigation be carried out," he added.
Abdul Rahim said Tengku Abdullah had also asked that the false Facebook accounts be removed.
He said he had also sent a message to the "admin" of all the three false accounts to do likewise.
Kuantan police chief, ACP Abdul Aziz Salleh confirmed having received the police report on the case.
He said the initial investigation found no elements of sedition in the case, which would however be referred to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission for further action. – Bernama
