Haminuddin Mohamed Hair, 40, an assistant superintendent, had demanded the money from Sahabudin Mohamed Gani as an inducement not to take action against him for keeping and selling cigarettes on which duty was not paid.
Haminuddin, who was then attached to the MAS cargo branch at the Bayan Lepas International Airport, committed the offence at Pasar Mini Saburthan, Lot 326, Kampung Banggol Pasir, Jalan Ayer Kuning, Changkat Jering, in Larut Matang at 4pm on May 13, 2013.
