Settle MB issue: PR Youth

SUBANG JAYA: Pakatan Rakyat Youth will meet with top leaders of the coalition to discuss the Selangor mentri besar crisis.
The three youth chiefs from the coalition said the crisis has been dragging for too long and may affect public opinion of Pakatan Rakyat.
"Pakatan Rakyat Youth has unanimously agreed to urge the top leadership to settle the mentri besar crisis as soon as possible," PAS youth chief Suhaizan Kaiat said in a joint press conference with PKR youth chief Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad and and DAP youth chief Teo Kok Seong.
He said they will have separate meetings soon with PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang.
The issue is the tussle over who should be the mentri besar, as Abdul Hadi is of the view that PKR president Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail is not suitable while PKR and DAP insists on having her for the position and has submitted her name to the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
"While we will put forth our view on the matter, we will leave it to the top leadership to find the best solution to resolve it" he said, adding that any delay in settling the crisis will reduce the support and confidence of the public towards Pakatan Rakyat.
Suhaizan said that the crisis, if not settled immediately, may lead to a rift between the coalition.
On the Pengkalan Kubor by-election, to be held on Sept 25, the trio said they will support whoever is chosen as the candidate and ensure his/her victory.
They said the top leadership in PR will resolve any conflicting issues on the by-election before Thursday.
On another matter, they said they intend to meet Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on Sept 11 to seek clarification over the recent arrests under the Sedition Act.
