KUALA LUMPUR: MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai has called on Selangor MCA members to be prepared for a possible snap election in the state.
He said such a possibility may arise given the current scenario regarding the Selangor mentri bear post and the political crisis the state is in at the moment.
"I think it is time to allow the people of Selangor to make a decision. We should not allow Pakatan Rakyat to continue creating problems and havoc in the Selangor government as it will burden the people," he said in his opening speech at the Selangor MCA convention here today.
He said there was a time when Pakatan Rakyat called for "ubah" (change) and that is what is causing the problem in Selangor.
"Instead of bringing betterment to the people, Pakatan created more trouble such as water rationing early this year and the dispute over the MB post ...," said Liow.
He said the people of Selangor should make a firm decision to ensure a stable and responsible state government.
In urging Selangor MCA to give its best service to the people, Liow said that although the state party is doing well in terms of service, it can be further improved with motivational talks.
