KUALA LUMPUR: Lovers of Malaysian food in Japan will soon get to cook various Malaysian dishes, thanks to an initiative by Geoflex Sdn Bhd, which has developed the country's first cooking video portal called 'TryMasak'.
The company is dubbing more than 1,000 of its cooking videos into the Japanese language for its second version of the TryMasak portal.
Geoflex senior web developer Muhammad Hazrat Muslimen said the second version of TryMasak, a collaboration with Panasonic Malaysia, would be available by the end of this year.
"The initiative was taken after we received many requests from abroad for our cooking videos to be dubbed into other languages," he told Bernama when met at the KL Converge 2014 conference and exhibition at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) here.
Besides the Japanese language, Muhammad Hazrat said the cooking videos would also be dubbed into English.
So far, TryMasak has produced more than 1,000 videos on the cooking of Malay, Chinese, Indian and Western dishes.
"We received feedback that it was easy to follow the uploaded videos because the presentation was simple, and it was free. He said the videos were produced with the cooperation of various chefs, including celebrity chefs such as Zam and Sabri as well as culinary lecturers from local universities. – Bernama
