Fire damages motorcycle shop, causes RM100,000 loss

    KUALA LUMPUR: A fire damaged a shop selling motorcycles in Batu Caves here early today, incurring losses estimated at RM100,000, according to the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department.
    Its assistant director (operations), Mohd Sani Harul, said the fire, which occurred at the shop in Taman Samudera at about 2 am, also destroyed 30 motorcycles of various types.
    He said the department responded to a call on the fire at 1.49am by sending two fire trucks with 12 firemen from the Selayang and Sungai Buloh stations.
    "The fire affected only the ground floor of the three-storey building. It was put out at 3.56am," he said in a statement.
    "The cause of the fire is being ascertained," he added. – Bernama
