Hadi: Our assemblymen were 'stolen'

BATU PAHAT: PAS has never been interested in seizing the Selangor mentri besar post.
PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang said the party had no choice but to intervene in the Selangor crisis based on the concept of tahaluf siyasi (political cooperation) in the Pakatan Rakyat.
"An intervention is a must, and don't look at this issue lightly," Hadi told the enthusiastic crowd during his winding up speech at 60th PAS Muktamar here today.
Hadi also chastised the two PAS members who threw their support for Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail to be the next Selangor mentri besar by signing a statutory declaration.
He condemned PKR and DAP for "stealing" the two assemblymen, Shaari Sungib (Hulu Klang) and Hasnul Baharuddin (Morib).
"We will not take this cross over lightly. All PAS candidates took a loyalty oath before the general election. Which one is bigger? A loyalty oath or the statutory declaration? he asked.
He said it was okay for PKR and DAP to have disagreements with PAS, as long as the two component parties did not interfere with PAS core policy.
Meanwhile, according to PAS National Legal Bureau (LUHAM) chairman Mohamed Hanipa Maidin, PAS administration in Selangor will collapse if the party decides to accept the position of Selangor mentri besar.
He said this is because there is no guarantee that the Selangor government under PAS will be supported by the other component parties within Pakatan Rakyat.
"If we accept the position, will we be strong enough to hold the seat? Our Pakatan friends will not support us as we had initially promised to give the seat to PKR," he said in his winding up speech at the PAS 60th Muktamar here today.
He said the party will face problems if it decided to take the position, including dragging the state to a snap election.
The Selangor Palace will announce the name of the new mentri besar of Selangor by Monday at the latest.
This was stated by the Sultan of Selangor's private secretary, Datuk Mohamad Munir Bani. "The Selangor Palace will announce who the new mentri besar is by Monday at the latest. However, it (the announcement) is up to the Sultan of Selangor," he said when contacted yesterday.
