Man killed, another injured at wake shooting

BUTTERWORTH: A 34-year-old man died after he was shot by a gunman while attending a wake at a house here late Monday night.
Lee Wooi Shong, who also went by the nickname of "Kastam", was with a 38-year-old friend attending the funeral prayers at Kampung Selamat when the gunman walked in about 11pm.
North Seberang Prai district police chief ACP Abdul Rahman Ibrahim said the man pulled out a gun before firing several shots at Lee and his friend.
He added the shots hit Lee in the head and back while his friend suffered injuries to his hands.
"The suspect then fled the scene in a car parked outside the house," Abdul Rahman told the media, adding that three bullet casings were recovered from the scene.
Abdul Rahman said Lee and his friend were rushed to the Kepala Batas Hospital but Lee succumbed to his injuries about 2.20am yesterday. His friend's condition is stable.
Abdul Rahman said checks showed that Lee had two criminal records for gambling.
He said police have classified the case as murder and was looking for the suspect.
