Moderate earthquake hits Hindu Kush region, Afghanistan

    KUALA LUMPUR: A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 on the Richter scale occurred at 6.49am today in the Hindu Kush Region, Afghanistan.
    The Malaysian Meteorological Department said the epicentre of the earthquake was at 53km north of Taloqan, Afghanistan and 4,527km northwest of Padang Besar, Perlis.
    There was no tsunami threat, said the statement. – Bernama
