KUALA LUMPUR: Khazanah Nasional Bhd will not be listing its wholly-owned subsidiary Themed Attractions and Resorts Sdn Bhd (TAR) this year but would like its leisure and tourism arm to be listed eventually, said Khazanah managing director Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar.
"I can confirm that it (listing) will not be this year. (TAR is) doing well and we've no hurry to list it. We'll list it when it's ready," he told reporters at the Khazanah Megatrends Forum 2014 here yesterday.
He said the decision to list TAR will be made jointly between Khazanah, the board of TAR as well as TAR CEO.
"There's no big deal, really. It's just doing well. The financial numbers are there," said Azman.
News of plans to list TAR first came out in February 2013.
According to filings with SSM, TAR made a net loss of RM49.63 million for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2013. This was on revenue of RM300.67 million. Its total assets stood at RM1.84 billion, while total liabilities was at RM1.38 billion.
TAR's portfolio include KidZania Kuala Lumpur, Legoland, Puteri Harbour Family Theme Park and Desaru Coast. It is expected to open the KidZania Singapore in 2015 and Malaysia Truly Asia Centre in 2016. However it was reported that the Malaysia Truly Asia Centre project is on hold because of land matters.
