PUTRAJAYA: Former Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim was sacked by PKR based on the party constitution he himself had helped formed in the past, says PKR Secretary-General Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
He said that Khalid was "fully aware" of the party's constitution in dealing with disciplinary cases as well as the procedures.
"Khalid was the party's secretary-general then, and he had laid the foundation in the past," he said. Khalid was party secretary-general between 2007 and 2008 before taking up post as MB in the Selangor state administration.
"I also had informed the Registrar of Soceity (RoS) that Khalid was the Secretary-General of the party in the past," he told reporters this after being questioned by the RoS at its office here together with PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail for close to an hour.
He said that both him and PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail have given their fullest cooperation based on disciplinary matters in the party constitution.
Khalid was sacked by the party on Aug 9 after he had refused to stepped down from his position to paved way for Wan Azizah to take over, which led to the recently-concluded Selangor MB crisis.
Khalid then, on Aug 14, lodged a report with the RoS against the party of the sacking, which he had deemed as "flawed and illegal".
Saifuddin and Wan Azizah were accompanied by their lawyer Ragunath Kesavan as well as party disciplinary board chairman Datuk Dr Tan Kee Kwong.
Wan Azizah, meanwhile said she had given her fullest cooperation during the questioning session.
"I believe the answers given was satisfactory to them," she said briefly before leaving the premises.
