Doctors put on a show for charity

BUTTERWORTH: More than 80 performers, mostly doctors including prominent medical experts in Penang will showcase their talents on stage to perform a charity musical night on Oct 17 at Dewan Sri Pinang, George Town, to raise fund for the outreach programmes for the aged.
Organised by Penang Family Health Development Association (FHDA), the musical show titled Viva la Pinang ... a Charity Musical Evening With Doctors will entertain the audience with various songs and dances as well as showing various scenes of Penang from the past to the present time.
When asked by theSun, one of the performers, Loke Choon Jin, said the musical show will not only entertains the audience but will also be an opportunity for doctors to help raise funds and have fun as well as showcase their talents.
"I am doing it because it is fun and for a good cause," Loke added.
FHDA, a non-profitable organisation providing health services and screening for marginalised groups in the community since 1961 in Butterworth, Kepala Batas and Bukit Mertajam, hopes to raise RM500,000 through the event.
