KUALA LUMPUR: The police today dismissed as untrue a report on the social media of several women having been robbed and fatally stabbed at several locations in the city.
Inspector-General of Police Secretariat (Corporate Communications) assistant chief ACP Asmawati Ahmad said the false information was circulated in July 2012 and also in July this year.
"No such case has been reported in the city," she said in a statement.
Asmawati advised the people not to be taken in by such unverified sensational news circulated on the social media.
She said the news was being spread only to frighten the people. – Bernama
