AirAsia wins award for 3rd consecutive year

PETALING JAYA: AirAsia has won the "Asia's Leading Low Cost Airline" title for the third consecutive year at the World Travel Awards (Asia & Australasia) Gala 2014 held in New Delhi, India last Friday.
The airline received the highest votes in the category, surpassing other nominees in the category namely Air India Express, Firefly, Go Air, JetKonnect, Jetstar Airways and Nok Air.
It was also nominated in the "World's Leading Low Cost Airline" category for the second consecutive year at the upcoming World Travel Awards 2014 to be held in November 2014.
"We are ecstatic to retain the top spot in this category since it was created in 2012. It has been an exhilarating and rewarding journey for AirAsia throughout the years and we are happy that our guests around the region recognise the effort we put into creating a great travel experience for everyone," AirAsia group CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said in a statement.
