Syabu worth RM2.8m seized in mini lab

IPOH: Police have raided a food catering business in a bungalow here which housed a mini syabu processing laboratory and seized 32.8kg of the drug, which has a street value of about RM2.8 million.
In the 10.30am raid in Lim Garden on Sunday, they seized methamphetamine, some in liquid form found in several containers, a van, two motorcycles, a watch, two handphones, jewellery worth RM24,000 and RM500 in cash.
There was no one in the house at the time but police later detained two men.
Perak deputy police chief Datuk A. Paramasivam told reporters on Tuesday they detained a 42-year-old local man in the city at 12.40pm the same day.
He said the man is the sole proprietor of the food catering business operated from the rented bungalow.
Four hours later, police detained a 34-year-old foreigner, who did not have any travel documents, in Lim Garden. Both have been remanded until Sunday to assist investigations.
