Celcom expects increase in activation rate for new plan

    KUALA LUMPUR: Celcom Axiata Bhd anticipates a daily 5% to 10% increase in activation rate for its newly-launched Xpax prepaid Internet plan from its user segment.
    Chief Marketing Officer Zalman Zainal said the Xpax is the first prepaid Internet pack empowered with 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE).
    "The Xpax is designed with the perfect, high speed Internet pack to enable everyone to gain access to richer mobile entertainment content as well as give customers greater control over their usage and expenses," he told a press conference here after launching the plan.
    He said through the Xpax, Celcom aims to grow its mobile Internet user base and attract new customers to its prepaid plan.
    "Under the new plan, customers will continue to enjoy 10 minutes of free Internet time of up to three sessions a day, play 10 games for free daily and receive 10 seconds in free calls made within the Celcom network.
    "They will also enjoy the best call and SMS rates for as low as 33 sen per minute on voice calls within the same network and 33 sen per three minutes to other networks.
    "The pack is available at RM8.50 and comes with RM5 pre-loaded airtime," Zalman said.
    Meanwhile, to redeem free internet and games, users need to dial *118# or send a request via SMS to 28882 to use the same features.
    There are 10.2 million Xpax prepaid subscribers all over the country at present. – Bernama
