Ringgit opens higher against US dollar

KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit opened higher against the US dollar today on strong buying interest, a dealer said. At 9.20am, the local unit was quoted at 3.2590/2610 against the greenback from Monday's 3.2710/2730.
The ringgit was also mostly higher against other major currencies. It edged upward against the Singapore dollar at 2.5655/5673 from Monday's 2.5689/5711 and strengthened against the yen to 3.0518/0542 from 3.0556/0589.
It also appreciated against the British pound to 5.2662/2711 from 5.2715/2761 previously and firmed against the euro to 4.1692/1724 from 4.1722/2754. – Bernama
