Man run over by train in Kuala Lipis

KUANTAN: A man was run over by a train at Km219.75 of the railway line from Tumpat to Gemas in Kuala Lanar near Kuala Lipis early this morning.
Lipis police chief Supt Abdul Razak Hassan said the incident occurred at 1.23am while the train was on its way from Tumpat to Kuala Lumpur.
"Police were informed of the incident by a Keretapi Tanah Melayu worker moments after the accident.
"The man's body was crushed beyond recognition," he said when contacted here today.
He said there were no identification documents on the body which was sent to Kuala Lipis Hospital for post mortem.
"The driver and passengers of Senandung Wau TN did not sustain any injuries in the accident which later continued its journey half an hour later," he said.
Abdul Razak requested members of the public who saw the incident to contact police to assist investigations. – Bernama
