JOHOR BARU: A Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) needs to be set up to investigate all parties involved in money politics as alleged by the home minister.
DAP Parliamentary Leader Lim Kit Siang said Ahmad Zahid's claim that some politicians received funds from illegal syndicates during the last general election was a serious allegation.
"Let a royal commission find out the facts, better than someone making such claims," Lim, who is Gelang Patah MP, told reporters after attending a Deepavali event in Skudai near here today.
Also present were Dr. Boo Cheng Hau, the Skudai assemblyman and Pengkalan Rinting assembleman Cheo Yee How also presented.
Ahmad Zahid had reportedly said some politicians had accepted funds from influential syndicates involved in gambling activities in Kuala Sepatang, Bagan Panchor and Kuala Sangga, Perak, for the last general election.
